Another Life Lost In Iraq

Well I was looking at the news on aol this morning and couldn't help but notice the story of Michael Monsoor, a young man of only 25 and a Navy SEAL, who died while protecting his comrades from a grenade. From the description of the event, it is clear that this young man was full of bravery, and love for his fellow soldiers, because he threw himself over the grenade in order to keep anyone else from being injured. I saw the video of Bush presenting Michael's parents with a medal for his bravery, and all I could think as Bush was talking was, "And it's your fault because you sent him there to die." Maybe some think that is an oversimplification of the issue, and I'm sure there are some out there who are going to support this meaningless war until the very end, but every time something like this happens all I can think about is the fact that so many of the soldiers dying in Iraq are so young....They haven't even had time to live their lives yet. Bush is well into middle-age, he is nice and secure and well-protected by the Secret Service in the White House, but he keeps sending all of these young men--some of them really no more than boys--to their deaths. It always seems so unfair to me that so many soldiers who don't even have a chance to really live are cut down, all because of the decisions of a bunch of old guys in a room, who've all lived their lives to the fullest. At some point we just have to say, "Enough is Enough
