Ehren Watada the coward

Okay I was signing into AOL today and what do I discover but a story about a man named Ehren Watada who is an officer in the Army and who refused to go to Iraq with the other men and women in the military. Now he's on trial and could face jail time, which HE DESERVES. I am not a fan at ALL of the Iraq war, and am CERTAINLY no fan of Bush's lying ass, and the lies that were told to get our troops there, BUT I do support the troops. They knew when they joined the military that they might have to do something they didn't want to...That's what following orders is all about folks! If he was so averse to the possibility of following an order he didn't like, then I guess he shouldn't have joined. I hope he gets convicted. He is a coward, plain and simple.

Completely agreed. Signing up for the military isn't just to get through college anymore. You've got to be totally aware of your possibility to be sent away.

Someone I knew was in the National Guard to pay for college. She was in her last SEMESTER, not year, just ONE semester left and she got called up to Iraq in her last semester... it really sucks that they have to call on these people in the Guard to go overseas. I still don't know if she's been home long enough to be able to finish. But in another branch of the military such as the Army, Navy, Marines, or Air Force, you have to always be prepared for that possiblity...
